Bill Leech (73) was very surprised because he "assembled" back with his wallet was missing when he was studying in France, 55 years ago.

The new Bill was 18 years old while studying French at the University of Grenoble in 1960. It was then that he lost his wallet containing his identity card and driving license.

Bill and his friends were having lunch at a ski resort in Chamrousse when he accidentally dropped his wallet in that place.

He realized that if his wallet is missing a few hours later. When he returned to the bar that he did not find the purse. Bill believes the wallet was stolen or fell and buried by snow.

Remarkably, more than half a century later discovered, after the lunch bar where Bill was moved to the new place about 124 kilometers away.

A carpenter found the wallet was wedged inside a cavity. The carpenter was then contacted a woman from Wales who lived in Grenoble to help track the whereabouts of Bill.

Sally Monro, the Wales women's names, check the contents of the wallet, and after doing a search on the Internet she discovered the identity of the owner of the purse.

Through internet searches Sally knows Bill has now become chairman of the board of a region in Warwickshire, England.

Sally then called Bill in August and make sure that he is the owner of a wallet found the carpenter.

Sally then arrange flights for Bill so that he could take his own wallet was missing more than five decades ago.

Last week, Bill came to Grenoble. Not just to "pick up" his wallet, it also used this opportunity to remember the past.

"I was supposed to learn French, but it turns out I was a lot more learning to ski," said the grandfather of two grandchildren.

"When skiing in Chamrousse, about 19 kilometers from Grenoble, I lost my wallet," recalls Bill.

"My wallet that contains a student card, driver's license and vehicle registration issue of the British Lambretta scooter 125 belongs to me," added Bill.

Lucky, continued Bill, he did not lose the license to ski, so he can continue his hobby.

"At that time I did not think about it because there was not much money and important documents in it. I could replace all of the documents in the UK," he said.

Nevertheless, Bill was very surprised and delighted to rediscover the lost wallet.
