Routinely Drinking Coffee Healthy Eyes


Drinking coffee is still being debated, because in addition to providing benefits, not a few people who feel side effects after consuming these beverages. Regardless of the debate, a new study adds to the list of benefits of the drink this one.
The study found that regular coffee drinking may help eyes stay healthy. Specifically, the antioxidants in coffee called chlorogenic acid prevents aging retina. In humans, the aging of the retina caused by glaucoma, age aging and diabetes.
Lead researcher Chang Y Lee of Cornell University said, coffee is a popular drink in the world. "We understand what the benefits of the drink," he said.
In the study, the researchers conducted experiments on mice. Groups of rats were given chlorogenic acid showed no signs of retinal damage after being exposed to nitric oxide which accelerate the aging process.
Researchers say, the need for further studies to corroborate these findings. In particular, to determine the application of these findings in humans.
In addition, the researchers wanted to know whether the chlorogenic acid in coffee may be dispensed directly on the retina. If so, then the researchers could design a proper coffee dose to maintain eye health.
