The Android Robot Similar to Humans


Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro of Osaka University, Japan introduced a human robot (Android) design, which increasingly resemble those of humans. The female robot named Erica.
Unlike the previous draft Ishiguro, Erica is not only designed to pamper the eyes, but also ear Android lovers. Yes, Ishiguro has enhanced the ability to speak its Android robot, as well as body language when speaking.
Ishiguro try to eliminate the awkwardness that comes when humans communicate with robots.
Although it still looks stiff to human standards, but Erica when demonstrated in front of the journalists does look more similar to humans.
He could blink, head tilt, movement facial skin has mencerimnkan emotion, moving his lips, and body language that follows the style of speech.
Even Android robot is also able to mutter "uuuunnnn?", A non-verbal communication, which means "really?" commonly used in Japan.
Erica is the result of collaboration between the Japan Science and Technology Agency, Osaka University, the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR) and Kyoto University.
Erica is currently being exhibited at Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo, Japan.
